Types of Permissions

This article explains how permissions are structured in Vemcount and what each permission allows a user to do. Permissions are assigned per user and are grouped into functional categories to make access control easier to manage.

Access levels

Depending on the permission, access can be set to one of several levels. Not every permission uses the same set of options.

Permission

What it allows

Important notes

Footfall

Allows the user to report on footfall traffic and view shared footfall dashboards.

If this is Off, the user cannot generate reports and shared footfall dashboards will not display data.

Weather

Allows reporting on weather data and use of weather widgets in dashboards.

Maps

Provides access to Maps, including visual location views and traffic heatmaps.

Age and Gender

Provides access to Age and Gender reporting.

Advanced Period Steps

Provides more granular time interval reporting below 15 minutes.

Each sensor must be configured to report at the same granularity.

Events

Adds an events calendar to the menu and allows events to appear in calendar, charts, and report tables.

Useful for correlating promotions or campaigns with traffic.

Manage Events

Allows the user to add and edit events in the events calendar.

Promote to library

Allows the user to share a dashboard to a library so it can be reused as a template.

Allow embedding

Allows the user to share a dashboard or widget externally by displaying the HTML embed code.

View only

Turns the role into a view-only role.

This setting overrides other activated permissions. Shared dashboards can be viewed, but creation or copying is restricted.

Manage Users

Allows the user to create and manage users.

Reset inside

Allows the user to reset the occupancy widget.

Share reports

Allows the user to share a saved report to roles.
