Overview

When a store is closing permanently, relocating, or ending its Vemcount service, the location must be formally disabled in the system. This ensures billing stops, data collection ceases, and the account is cleanly offboarded. This guide explains what information to provide and what happens after the request is submitted.

When to Request a Store Disable

  • Permanent store closure

  • Store relocation to a new address (disable old, create new)

  • End of contract or service cancellation for a specific location

  • Consolidation of multiple locations into one

What Information to Include in Your Request

To process the disable request quickly, include the following in your support ticket:

  • Store name as it appears in Vemcount

  • Traffic ID / Location ID (visible in the Vemcount platform under the location settings)

  • Store address

  • Last date of operation — the final day data should be recorded

  • Reason — closure, relocation, contract end, etc.

  • Hardware status — are sensors to be returned, left on-site, or relocated?

What Happens After You Submit

  1. The Vemcount team confirms receipt and verifies the location details.

  2. Data collection is stopped as of the last date of operation.

  3. The location is deactivated in the platform — historical data remains accessible unless deletion is specifically requested.

  4. The license associated with the location is released. Billing adjustments are handled by the finance team.

  5. If sensors need to be returned, a separate logistics ticket is created.

Hardware Return After Closure

If sensors need to be physically returned after a store closure:

  • Open a separate return logistics request referencing the original disable ticket.

  • Include the number of sensors, their condition, and the return address.

  • Vemcount will arrange collection or provide a return shipping label depending on your service agreement.

Relocating vs. Closing

If the store is moving to a new address rather than closing permanently:

  • Request a disable for the old location.

  • Simultaneously open a new installation request for the new address.

  • Specify whether existing sensors will be reused at the new site or new hardware is needed.
