Can I access my chat history across different browsers or devices?

Chat history is stored locally on your device or browser for privacy. It is not uploaded as a server-side copy Venice can restore for you. When you open Venice on a different device, browser, browser profile, app/PWA/APK install, or account, earlier chats will not appear because local storage is separate in each environment.

Additionally, this content is not tied to your account, further ensuring privacy and security.

Ways to move context across environments:

  • Encrypted backups (Pro): Chat History Drawer → Profile → Backup Chat History. Create a password-protected backup to export your chat history and restore it across devices. Available on web, mobile browser/PWA, APK, desktop, and the iOS/Android App Store apps if you created a backup before the data was lost.

  • Ask the chat for a condensed summary, then paste it into a new chat on the other device.

  • Share a conversation with an encrypted share link when that feature fits your use case.

Download any generated content, such as images and videos, you want to keep long term. After downloading, consider uploading your media to a cloud storage service to make it accessible across devices.
