What does the green coin icon next to a model mean?

When you browse models in the model selector, some show a green coin icon next to their name. That icon tells you the model is pay-per-use: each request to it costs Venice Credits.

Models without the coin icon are included in your plan. On Pro, you can use included models within your plan's limits at no additional credit cost.

Models with the green credit icon consume Venice Credits on every request, regardless of your subscription tier. This usually applies to newer or more compute-intensive models, such as certain video-generation and advanced image models as well as text models.

A few things worth knowing:

  • The credit icon is about credit cost, not model quality or availability.

  • Having a Pro subscription does not make credit-icon models free — they always draw from your credit balance.

  • You can see your current credit balance in Settings.

  • Credits renew monthly with your subscription. If you exhaust your credits, additional usage of pay-per-use models will deduct from your balance until the next cycle or until you purchase more credits.
