Video Generation Prompt Templates

The easiest-to-read, best-performing Seedance 2.0 Enhanced prompts all follow the same six-block structure. Lead with the subject and action, keep it to 60–100 words for a single shot, and describe the camera and the subject as two separate things. Here's the formula and ready-to-use templates.

The 6-block formula

Subject → Action → Environment → Camera → Style → Constraints

Write it as one clear line, in that order:

[Subject], [Action], in [Environment], camera [Movement], style [Look], avoid [Constraints].

  • Subject — who/what, with specific visual features. "A young woman in a white dress."

  • Action — one primary action, with a pace. "Slowly turns around, breeze lifting the skirt."

  • Environment — where, with lighting. "On a seaside cliff at dusk, golden glow."

  • Camera — one primary move. "Camera slow push-in."

  • Style — specific visual reference. "Cinematic film tone, 35mm."

  • Constraints — what to avoid. "Avoid jitter and bent limbs."

Three rules that matter most

  • One camera move per shot. Stacking moves (orbit + zoom + pan) causes jitter. Pick one: slow dolly-in, pull-out, pan, tracking shot, orbit, crane up, handheld, or fixed/locked.

  • Separate camera from subject. Describe what the subject does and what the camera does as two actions. ❌ "Spinning camera around the dancing woman." ✅ "A woman dances slowly, arms raised. Camera orbits her in a steady 360-degree arc."

  • Specific beats vague. Skip filler like "beautiful" or "cinematic vibe." One concrete lighting line ("golden-hour backlight, long shadows") improves the result more than ten adjectives. And avoid the word "fast" — describe the action and physics instead.

Copy-and-paste templates

  • Cinematic single shot: "[Subject] [single action] in [location], slow dolly-in from a low angle, golden-hour backlight with long shadows, cinematic film grain, shallow depth of field, avoid jitter."

  • Product shot: "[Product] rotating slowly on [surface], soft studio lighting, camera slow orbit, clean commercial look, sharp focus, no handheld shake."

  • Action: "[Subject] [action with pace] in [environment], camera tracking from the side, natural daylight, avoid warping and bent limbs."

  • Image-to-video (add motion to a still): "Add gentle natural motion: [subject] [small movement, e.g. hair drifting in the wind], slow subtle push-in, keep the original lighting and colors, photorealistic."

Multi-beat clips: use a timeline

For anything beyond one beat, break the video into timestamp blocks and describe each moment in order (up to ~300 words total):

[0:00–0:03] Wide establishing shot of [setting], slow pan.
[0:03–0:06] [Subject] [action], camera push-in.
[0:06–0:10] Close-up on [detail], hold.

If a generation misses

Change one block at a time rather than rewriting the whole prompt — that isolates what's causing the problem. For characters, keep "avoid jitter and bent limbs" in every prompt as a standing constraint.
