How to Create New Users

Users are people in your organisation who have access to the Ventrata dashboard.

You can assign different roles to your users to group them based on the area they work in.

Create a New User

Create a user entry in your Ventrata account settings.

  1. In the Ventrata Dashboard, go to [user_name] > Account Settings.

  2. Press the Users tab.

  3. Press the + New User button.

  4. Enter user name.

    📒 NOTE

    The 'Active' checkbox is ticked by default. When unticked, the user account cannot be accessed.

  5. Enter the user's email address.

    This address will be the user's username when logging in to the dashboard.

  6. Enter mobile phone (optional).

  7. Select user account attributes:

    • Notification email cc - the user will receive updates on all bookings

    • Admin - the user has access to the entire dashboard, can create, delete and update user accounts and their roles

  8. Enter a supervisor pin (optional).

    📒 NOTE
    This pin is used to override certain restrictions for sellers on terminal devices, for example, order cancelation.

  9. Press the Create User button.

Grant User Access

Grant existing users access to roles, destinations and products.

  1. In the Ventrata Dashboard, go to Supplier Settings > Grants.

  2. Press the + New Grant button.

  3. Select a user from the list of existing users.

  4. Assign one or multiple roles.

    📗 TIP
    A role is a set of permissions. Different roles may have different sets of permissions. Make sure you only give users permissions to areas where they really need them.

    📒 NOTE

    When a user is flagged as 'Admin', there is no need to assign a specific role which includes all of the permissions.

  5. Keep 'Allow All Destinations' checked to allow the user to access all supplier destinations or restrict their access by disallowing specific destinations.

  6. Keep 'Allow All Products' checked to allow the user to access all supplier products or restrict their access by disallowing specific products.

    ⛔️ WARNING
    Disallowing a destination or product will hide any bookings, transactions or products (if a destination is disallowed) associated with the disallowed items.

  7. Press the Create Grant button.
