Veras Messaging Overview

Veras enhances team communication through our integrated messaging feature. In this article, we’ll walk you through everything you can do within the messaging tab.


Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Click on the Messages tab
This will take you to the messaging center where all your conversations live.

2. Explore Channels and Direct Messages

On the left-hand side of the screen, you’ll see your Channels—organized spaces for team communication centered around specific roles, departments, or areas. Channels are named group conversations that users can join or leave as needed, helping keep collaboration focused and efficient.

Smart Channels

To help you get started, we’ve automatically created a Community (General) channel, along with channels for each department and shift position.
Each of these channels has a smart audience, meaning the right team members will be added and removed automatically as staff join or leave—no manual updates needed.

Below your list of Channels, you’ll find Direct Messages (DMs)—private conversations between individuals or small groups (up to 10 people), perfect for one-on-one or focused team discussions.

3. Star Important Conversations
To easily access important groups or channels, you can star them. While in the conversation, click the star icon at the top right of the screen. Once starred, the conversation will appear in a new "Starred" section at the top of your message list on the left-hand side.

4.Edit or Delete Messages

To edit or delete a message:

  • On web: Hover over the message, then click the pencil icon to edit or the trash icon to delete.

  • On the app: Tap and hold the message, then select Edit or Delete from the menu.
