How to register as an Employer (Former School District) with Verifent

Updated over 2 years ago

(NOTE: This article is for School Districts.)

If you are a School District wanting to respond to Employment, Income, and Experience Verifications through Verifent, this article is for you.

First, visit the Employer Registration Page by clicking HERE.

Next, complete the form. Under "Organization Info" be sure to select 'Yes' when it asks if you are a School District. Then, select the type(s) of verifications you want to utilize Verifent for. There are three options:

  1. Commercial Verifications - Standard Employment & Income Verifications from banks, mortgage companies, background screeners, car dealerships, government entities, etc...

  2. Experience Verifications - Also known as Service Records, these verifications validate years of experience for your Certified, Classified, Instructional, and Non-Instructional staff members when they transition to a different school district.

  3. Both - Commercial and Experience Verifications

Once the form is completed, click "Register."

Next, an email will be sent to you with a link. Open that email and click on the link to verify your email address. (NOTE: Check your JUNK/SPAM email box if you don't see an email after a minute.)

After clicking on the link, another email will be sent to you with your Username and Temporary Password. Below your Temporary Password will be a "Please Login Here" link. Click that link and a new webpage will open.

Copy and Paste your Temporary Password into the "Current Password" box. Be sure not to copy any spaces before or after the Temporary Password that was emailed to you. Then create a new password and enter it in both the "New Password" and "Confirm Password" boxes. Be sure your password meets the password requirements in the blue box above. Click the "Change Password" button.

Next, enter your Username and newly created password and click the "Log In" button.

This will take you to the "Agree to Terms" page. Scroll to the bottom, enter the number of Active Employees your school district employs, type your name, and click the "I Agree" button.

You are now inside your Verifent Employer (Former District) account on the "Settings" page.

Enter an Employer Disclaimer that will appear on all Commercial Verification responses. (Don't worry, you can always change this in the future.) Most school districts enter something like the following:

  • All teachers are paid on a 12 month (or 10 month) basis.

  • To see when our offices are closed, visit the following link: www.example.com.

  • All garnishment requests should be sent to person@example.com.

Next, select the data elements you want to provide to Verifiers (banks, lenders, etc...) when they request an Employment Verification. (NOTE: Most school districts select the "Industry Standard - Recommended" tab AND the "Future Hire Date" data element.

Scroll down and, next, select the data elements you want to provide when a Verifier requests an Income Verification. An Income Verification will include all the data elements you previously chose for an Employment Verification + the ones in this section. Again, most school districts click on "Industry Standard - Recommended."

(NOTE: Verifent will always include base pay and total pay for an Income Verification. However, we also give you four customizable income fields. School Districts typically will have 'Supplemental Pay, Stipend Pay, Coach's Pay, Other Pay, Misc Pay, etc...' We highly encourage a 'Misc Pay' or 'Other Pay' to serve as a catch all.)

Lastly, scroll down and choose the data elements for any Government Verifications. Again, most school districts choose the "Industry Standard - Recommended" option.

Click on any of the "Save" buttons.

Then, click on "Company Profile" on the left-side toolbar.

Next, click on the "Pick Logo" button.

A pop-up screen will appear. Click the paper icon with a "+" in the middle. This will open up files on your computer. Select the logo file by double clicking on the file.

The logo will appear on the screen.

Click the "Upload" button.

You will know the logo uploaded correctly because it will appear on the screen.

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click the "Save" button.

You are done! Your account is now ready to begin processing verifications through Verifent.
