✨ Rich Text Formatting

Control how your notes look, not just what they say.

Updated over a week ago

Bold the important stuff, italicize for emphasis, and underline what matters. Open any template, format away, and generate your note. Vero keeps your styling intact.

How to Format Text

Format text using the toolbar or keyboard shortcuts—just like you would in a word processor.

Using the toolbar

  1. Select the text you want to format

  2. Click the formatting button in the toolbar:

    • B — Bold

    • I — Italic

    • U — Underline

Using keyboard shortcuts

Format

Windows/Linux

Mac

Bold

Ctrl + B

Cmd + B

Italic

Cmd + I

Underline

Cmd + U

Combining styles

Apply multiple formats to the same text:

  1. Select the text

  2. Click each format button (or use each shortcut) you want to apply

Formatting Static Text

Apply formatting directly to any text that should appear the same way every time.

Common uses

  • Section headings — Bold your SOAP headers, letter headings, or section titles

  • Signatures — Italicize sign-offs and clinician names

  • Underlined warnings — Underline critical safety information or required actions

Formatting Fill-in Fields

You can format your [square bracket] fields, and Vero will apply that styling to the extracted content.

Examples

What you format

What Vero generates

[Diagnosis]

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

[Patient instructions]

Take medication with food. Return if symptoms worsen.

[Urgent follow-up]

See cardiologist within 48 hours

Best Practices

Don't over-format

Too much styling reduces impact. Reserve formatting for:

  • Section headings

  • Critical information (diagnoses, medications, warnings)

  • Items requiring action

Test your templates

Preview generated notes to ensure formatting displays as intended. Different content may render differently based on what Vero extracts.

Troubleshooting

Formatting lost when pasting

Cause: Destination doesn't support rich text. Solution: Try "Copy with Formatting" options, or accept plain text for that destination.

Only part of the content is formatted

Cause: Dynamic formatting rules may need to be more specific. Solution: Clarify your (parentheses) instructions, e.g., "(bold only medication names, not doses)."

Rich text formatting is available in all Vero plans. For feedback or feature requests, reach out anytime.
