Stand out from the herd by offering clients access to the HerdLogix mobile app where they can easily access your treatment protocols and track herd management for streamlined efforts. You'll be able to collaborate seamlessly on animal health goals as HerdLogix integrates seamlessly with the VetLogix platform.
This video will walk through how to configure and add users to HerdLogix using the VetLogix Desktop admin app (app.vetlogix.io).
How to enable and configure HerdLogix for a client
By default, once you login to the VetLogix desktop admin app, you will land on the client listing page. From your client list, click on the name of the client you want enroll in HerdLogix.
With your client chosen, select the HerdLogix option from the left.
By default, you will land on the Settings tab. The first step is to activate HerdLogix for the chosen client.
Next, you'll select the animal type that will be tracked and monitored by the producer using HerdLogix.
Now, there are other optional features you can enable. Choosing to track lot number or live location will enable the producer to easily complete tasks for a group of animals, such as vaccinations or preg checks.
If you choose to track date of birth for the animals, a drop down will appear for you to choose how age will be determined.
Next you will add the users who will be using HerdLogix. To add your first user, select the Add User button.
Proceed to complete the user fields in the side panel that opens.
The last step in adding a user is determining their access permissions. The options are full or standard.
Permission Type = Standard: These users can create and edit tasks, animals, health events, post mortem and view relevant information.
Permission Type = Full: These users can do everything a standard user can plus manage settings, setup locations and more.
When you're done, select save to create your user.
Repeat steps #8 through #11 for any additional users you need to create. Once a HerdLogix user has been created, that individual will receive a welcome email containing instructions on how to download and login to the app.
Optionally, you can add in Custom Questions that will appear whenever a client is viewing a specific animal record in HerdLogix. The client can answer this question and update the answer as needed. This might be helpful, for example, if you want them to track something like whether or not they have observed any changes in milk production (for dairy cows) or weight gain (for beef cows).
Now that the HerdLogix settings have been taken care of the last stop is to choose the specific modules that you want your client to have access to by selecting the Enabled Modules tab.
