What the API does
The VetVerifi API lets you query real-time, clinic-verified vaccination status for pets in the VetVerifi network. It's designed for pet service businesses and software platforms that want to automate vaccine compliance checks at intake.
Core capabilities
Query current vaccine status for a pet by SmartTag ID, VetVerifi pet ID, or owner email + pet name
Receive structured JSON responses with per-vaccine status (current, expiring, overdue)
Subscribe to webhook events for record updates — get notified when a pet's vaccine status changes
Pull vaccination history for compliance reporting and audit logs
What the API doesn't expose
The API returns vaccine status data only. Full medical records, SOAP notes, diagnoses, and prescriptions are never accessible through the VetVerifi API. This is by design — VetVerifi is a verification layer, not a medical records platform.
Getting access
The VetVerifi API is currently available to approved partners. Visit vetverifi.com/api-access to apply. Approved partners receive API credentials and access to the sandbox environment.
