Overview of the Video Feature
The Videos feature allows event organizers and artists to upload, manage, and share video content directly on the Viewcy platform. This tool is designed to enhance engagement by providing exclusive content to members while also supporting public and private video sharing. With a streamlined upload process and flexible privacy settings, you can ensure your content reaches the right audience effortlessly.
Key Features
Uploading Videos
Click "Upload New Video" on the video management dashboard.
Drag and drop your video file or browse to select a file from your device.
Fill out the required fields:
Title (Required, max 100 characters)
Description (Optional, provides context for viewers)
Tags (Optional, comma-separated for better discoverability)
Thumbnail (Auto-generated from the video, but you can upload a custom image)
Set privacy settings (Public or Members-only).
Click "Publish" to complete the upload.
If the upload is interrupted, a warning message will prompt you before navigating away to prevent data loss.
Managing Uploaded Videos
The video dashboard allows you to:
Search videos by title
Sort by upload date, title, or privacy status
Filter based on visibility settings
Edit video details (title, description, thumbnail, and privacy settings)
Delete videos
Track Engagement: View donation amounts, number of views, and favorites
Privacy Settings
When uploading a video, you can choose from three visibility options:
Public – Anyone can view the video.
Members-only – Restrict access to specific membership tiers.
For members-only videos, you can select which membership tiers can view the content. By default, all tiers are selected.
Best Practices for Video Uploads
Use Supported Formats: MP4 or MOV (H.264 codec) for best compatibility.
Optimize File Size: Videos must be under 5GB. Compress larger files before uploading.
Ensure High-Quality Resolution: For best results, upload videos in HD (720p or 1080p).
Choose Relevant Tags: Tags help users discover your content more easily.
NB: Videos that have not been watched more than 30 days might take longer to load for the first time.
