Global Promo Codes are a powerful tool for event organizers and venues on Viewcy. They allow you to create discount codes that can be applied across multiple events or specific categories, streamlining your promotional efforts and enhancing your marketing strategies.
Accessing Global Promo Codes
To get started with Global Promo Codes:
Navigate to Business Tools > Marketing > Global Promo Codes in your Viewcy dashboard.
Creating a Global Promo Code
Follow these steps to create a new Global Promo Code:
Click "Add Code"
This opens the creation interface.
Code Name
Enter a unique name for your promo code (e.g., SUMMER20). This is what customers will enter at checkout.
Note: Codes cannot contain spaces or special characters.
Generate Random Code (Optional)
Click "Generate random code" to automatically create a 10-character code using uppercase letters and numbers (e.g., X7K9P2M4Q8).
Ticket Limit
Choose whether the code has unlimited uses or a specific limit.
If limited, enter the maximum number of times the code can be used (e.g., 50).
Discount Amount
Select either a fixed amount (e.g., $10 off) or a percentage discount (e.g., 20% off).
Enter the value in the provided field.
If the discount makes a ticket free, this will be reflected at checkout.
Active Dates
Set the start date and time when the code becomes active.
Optionally, set an end date and time for when the code expires.
Apply Code To
Choose whether the code applies to all tickets or specific tickets.
If selecting specific tickets, a list will appear where you can check the boxes for the desired tickets.
Save
Click "Save" to create the code, or "Cancel" to discard changes.

Available Actions
For each code, you can:

Errors: If the file format is invalid or columns are missing, an error message will display.
Applying Codes at Checkout
Global Promo Codes integrate seamlessly with Viewcy’s checkout process:
When a customer enters a valid code, the discount applies to eligible tickets in their order.
Limitation: Only one non-secret discount code can be applied per order.
Compatibility: Global Promo Codes work alongside secret codes and membership discounts for a smooth checkout experience.
Troubleshooting
If a Global Promo Code isn’t working, check these common issues:
Is the code active? Ensure it’s within its specified date range.
Does it apply to the tickets? Verify the code is linked to the tickets in the order.
Has it reached its limit? Confirm the usage limit hasn’t been exceeded.
Multiple codes? Ensure no other non-secret discount code is applied.
If problems persist, contact Viewcy support for assistance.
Best Practices
Maximize the impact of your Global Promo Codes with these tips:
Strategic Discounts: Set amounts that attract customers without undervaluing your events (e.g., 15% off instead of 50%).
Timing: Launch promotions during marketing campaigns or slow sales periods.
Track Usage: Monitor code usage to measure success and refine strategies.
Channel-Specific Codes: Create unique codes for different marketing channels (e.g., FB20 for Facebook, EMAIL15 for email) to track performance.
