Grouping streams lets you set multiple TVs to run the same loop of content.

If you have separate office locations or multiple TVs in one waiting room, you can group VMcast streams together to show the same content.

  1. Go to your VMcast Control Center.

  2. Click the gray box that shows the stream code number. Your streams will be highlighted in blue as you select them. Select all the streams you want to group together. Think of these as “child” streams or streams that will play the content of the “parent” or main stream.

  3. A new bar will appear at the top of the screen with new options. Click the “Add to Group” button.

  4. Select which stream is the “parent” stream. The loops set for the parent will be used by all the other child streams in the group. Grouping will remove loops that you may have set in the child streams. Click “Save.”

In the VMcast Control Center, you’ll see your selected streams grouped together with the parent stream listed first (dark grey) and the child stream(s) underneath (light grey). Only the parent stream has an “Edit Stream” button. Editing a parent stream will pass those changes to all of the linked child streams.

Note

Grouped streams still keep their own location info. Weather slides use location to show the right weather reports. Grouped streams will still show the right weather for each location while having their loops controlled by the parent stream.

Ungrouping streams

To remove a single stream from the group, click the link icon for that child stream in the Control Center.

To unlink an entire group, click the gray box for the parent stream to select it. Make sure the whole group is highlighted in blue. In the revealed bar, click the “Ungroup All Streams” link. All the streams in the selected group will become individual parent streams and can be set up individually to show different content.
