Data Type Explanations
VineMigrator makes use of "data types" throughout our Import Templates for aligning data correctly in Filevine. Filevine allows for many different data types - text, dropdown, dates, numbers, and other common data types. However, Filevine also allows for speciality data types that are specifically formatted for Filevine, like person links, due dates with reminders, and custom contact fields.
A comprehensive list of data types supported by Filevine and therefore included on our import templates are listed below.
Data Type: This column is the name of the data type as you'll see it in VineMigrator import templates and Filevine.
Description: A description of how to treat the data type.
Example: An example of how to format and insert the data.
Common: Whether this data is common to other systems and therefore compatible on a 1:1 basis, or if the data type is a Filevine-centric field.

Dataset Upload Tool
This tool allows you to securely upload your data to our internal Data Ops team for processing Express Migration jobs. Express Migrations are a managed service Vinetegrate offers. You will not see this module with the On Demand plan.
Simply provide a Name, Description, and then multi-upload your files to us. We accept only Excel or CSV uploads with this tool. We will be notified on our end when the data is securely uploaded.
