Sending a broadcast is a good way to contact and inform your subscribers about your campaign.

This is very useful in 2 cases: a) when your campaign starts (pre-launch subscribers) and b) when your campaign has ended (all subscribers).

a) Send a broadcast to your pre-launch campaign subscribers

In case you decide to run a pre-launch e.g. using FB Ads, a newsletter etc. or through the pre-launch Comment-to-Message Growth Tool, then you have to somehow tag the users that opted-in in the flow, during the pre-launch period.

You can use the same tag that we have in the pre-launch Comment-to-Message Growth Tool (VL-F0-Pre-launch subscribers) or another tag depending on the channel each subscriber came from (VL-F0-Pre-launch subscribers-ad ή VL-2.1-F0-Pre-launch subscribers-newsletter).

These people have subscribed to your Bot, because they are interested in the giveaway, but haven't joined yet.

So all these subscribers need to be informed when the giveaway will be "live" in order to join.

For this reason, you can create a broadcast.

Go to the Broadcast area and select the + New Broadcast button or select + Broadcast From Flow in case you have prepared the message in a flow already:

Type in a message that will announce that the giveaway is now "live" as a starting step and add a button for anyone who wishes to join through the Basic Flow of the Giveaway:

Then, go to Settings or Go Next in order to set up the Targeting and the rest of the parameters:

 In Content Type select Follow-Up:

In Targeting select all the tags of the pre-launch subscribers.

Select Schedule for later and Time travel, in case subscribers are from different time zones, and "Only 1 regular notification", in order to avoid sending multiple notifications:

b) Send a closing broadcast to all campaign subscribers

This is optional but when the contest ends (or when a giveaway winner is announced) it is a good opportunity to do a runner up flow to boost your sales.

This can be done with a broadcast:

Go to the Broadcast area and select + Broadcast From Flow and then select the Closing Flow (VL Closing flow) that is already included in the template:

In the Closing flow, perform any changes needed, especially wherever in you see [EDIT] in the Notes, meaning the name of the winner (for the giveaway), the promo code, the date by which the promo code will be valid and the URL in the button where the subscribers will be redirected to.

Of course, the entire message can be edited according to the tone and style of your brand:

When the message is ready, select Setting or Go Next:

 In Content Type select Follow-Up:

In Targeting select all the tags of the pre-launch subscribers.

Select Schedule for later and Time travel, in case subscribers are from different time zones, and 1 regular notification, in order to avoid sending multiple notifications:
