Welcome to the fascinating world of economics. The price of everything is constantly changing depending on what's happening in the market. And inflation is that annoying little rise in costs, that means what used to be $10, now costs $20.

Inflation

Because we are a business that really wants to be here for you in the future, we also have to adjust our prices according to market changes and inflation. If piano teachers were still charging 1997 rates, they'd go out of business today pretty quickly!

To keep our business in-line with standard inflation, our fees will increase slightly every 2 years (from July 1 in even years [2022, 2024, 2026 etc]). Fees will only increase by a few dollars and you will have the chance to cancel lessons before this change if you don't want to continue lessons at the new rate.

Notice of upcoming rate changes

In May of each even year (2022, 2024, 2026 etc), we will inform you of any upcoming rate changes and give you approx. 8 weeks to contact us if you'd prefer to cancel and not continue lessons past the date of the rate change (July 1). If we don't hear from you within that 8 week period, we assume you are happy to move forward at the new rate. You will receive 4 notifications about the rate change before it takes effect, giving you ample opportunity to cancel your ongoing lessons with us.

The new rate will then automatically be charged to your credit card from July 1.

If you join Virtual Piano Academy during this 8 week period (between May 1 - June 30 in an even year [2022, 2024, 2026 etc]), your account will be set up and you will be charged the new rate from your start date, even though this is before July 1.
