Finding the right healthcare provider can be a challenge, but Zocdoc makes it easier by helping you search for doctors who accept your insurance. Please follow these steps to easily find and book an in-network provider.
Step 1: Visit the Zocdoc Website or Download the App
Go to www.zocdoc.com on your web browser or download the Zocdoc mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Step 2: Search for a Provider
Use the search bar to enter the type of doctor or specialist you need (e.g., primary care physician, dermatologist, dentist).
Enter your city, state, or zip code to find providers in your area.
Select your insurance provider and plan to ensure you see only in-network providers. This helps Zocdoc filter results to match your coverage.
You can verify your insurance plan by checking your insurance card. You also have the option to upload a photo of your insurance card to your Zocdoc account for easy access. For more details, check out this Zocdoc article.

Step 3: View Search Results
A list of results will appear based on your preferences. You can also filter by location, availability, and patient ratings to find the best match for your needs.
Step 4: Review Provider Profiles
Click on a provider’s profile to review important details such as office location, patient reviews, accepted insurance, and available appointment times.
Step 5: Book an Appointment
Once you find a provider that fits your needs, select an available appointment time and confirm your booking. You do not need to create an account to schedule an appointment. After selecting a time slot, you will be asked to enter basic personal information, such as your name, date of birth, and contact details. You may receive a confirmation email or text message with appointment details. For more information on how to book an appointment, check out this article.
Step 6: Prepare for your Appointment
Before your visit, ensure you have your insurance card and any necessary paperwork. If your appointment is virtual, make sure you have a stable internet connection for your telehealth visit.
Additional Tips:
If you're unsure whether a provider is in-network, you can verify directly with your insurance company.
If an in-person visit isn’t necessary, check if the provider offers virtual appointments for added convenience.
Zocdoc also allows you to cancel or reschedule appointments if needed.
What if My Insurance Plan Is Not Listed in Zocdoc?
Some insurance plans may not be listed on Zocdoc. If you do not see your plan available when searching, it’s a good idea to check directly with your insurance provider for alternative ways to find in-network providers. Many insurance companies have their own provider search tools on their websites.
Here are some provider search tools for insurance plans that may not be listed on Zocdoc:
Jefferson Health Plans (Pennsylvania) – Members can use Jefferson Health’s online provider search tool to find in-network doctors. You can access this tool here: Jefferson Health Provider Search.
If your insurance provider has a similar search tool, it’s best to use that resource to ensure you find an in-network provider covered by your plan.
