Yes, Pennsylvania offers free breast and cervical cancer screenings through the Pennsylvania Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (PA-BCCEDP).
What services are offered?
Mammograms and MRIs to look for breast cancer
Pap smears and human papillomavirus (HPV) testing to look for cervical cancer
Additional testing and referrals if test results are not normal.
How do I qualify for these services?
Residence: You must live in Pennsylvania
Gender: Women or transgender people who have or had breasts or a cervix
Transgender women (male to female) who have taken or are taking hormones
Transgender men (female to male) who have not undergone a bilateral mastectomy
Age: There are recommended ages for breast and cervical screenings (**Individuals outside of these age ranges may qualify based on healthcare providers recommendations**)
Breast Cancer Screenings: Ages 40-64
Cervical Cancer Screenings: Ages 21-64
Income: You may be able to receive free services if you and/or your family have an income less than the following guidelines:
No insurance or Underinsured: You can receive services if you do not have insurance or do not have insurance that will cover the full cost of services. (**If you have Medicare Part B or Medicaid, you will not qualify for this program.**)
