What do the TUV AUSTRIA and ABA standards mean?

Currently, Standards Australia has no mandatory standard on biodegradability or degradability. However, as a pioneer in this field, the requirements of TUV AUSTRIA’s OK compost HOME system have served as the basis for the drafting of several voluntary standards such as Australia: AS 5810 (2010) – Biodegradable plastics - Biodegradable plastics suitable for home composting. Our sachets also hold a certification from the Home Compostable Verification Scheme throughout Australia and New Zealand. This verification identifies and differentiates packaging materials as biodegradable and compostable.
