Can I take Iron and Calcium together?
Can I take Iron and Calcium together?
Updated over a week ago

There have been various clinical studies done reporting conflicting results when it comes to calcium's inhibitory effect on iron and vitamin absorption. Some studies show that the inhibitory effect happens only at a meal level but not in the long term.

That being said, people with iron deficiency should ensure they are taking adequate amounts of iron to meet their needs. Therefore, it is important to always follow your health professional’s advice as they know your medical history and specific needs.

When selecting an iron form for our Iron product, we selected Ferrochel®, which is a patented iron (in the bioavailable form of iron called Bisglycinate Chelate), which carries no electrical charge - meaning it makes it easier to absorb and less likely to block the absorption of other nutrients.

We find that our customers prefer taking their vitamins altogether as they tend to forget taking them if they have to take them at separate times of days. That being said, for optimum absorption, and if you wish to take Iron and Calcium separately, you can take Calcium and Iron 1-2h apart.
