Once you have taken your DNA sample and pop it in the post, we'll contact you when your DNA sample has been received. It can take up to 2-3 weeks for the sample to arrive at the lab, and once received, the lab usually processes the results within 2 weeks.

This process involves consolidating the DNA sample in the UK before shipping it in batches to the laboratory in Germany for processing.

Step-by-Step Process

  1. Mailing Your DNA Sample: Once your sample is ready, you'll mail it using the provided prepaid packaging.

  2. UK Consolidation: Samples are first sent to a consolidation center in the UK, where they are batched for shipment to Germany.

  3. Batch Shipment to Germany: The consolidated samples are then sent to the laboratory in Germany for processing.

  4. Email Notifications:

    • You will receive an email notification when your sample has been received by the lab.

    • Another email will notify you when your results are ready to view.

Your results will then be available in your Vitl account on the website within approximately 6 weeks. You will receive email notifications when your sample is received by the lab and when your results are ready. Please remember to register your kit or your sample cannot be processed. We recommend keeping the VTL barcode provided until your results are ready to view.

Additional Notes

The entire process is designed to ensure accuracy and reliability. While the timelines are standardised, slight variations might occur due to shipping or processing delays. Be sure to check your email for updates to track the progress of your results.
