How do I take my blood test?

How to get your blood test done

Getting your blood test done is quick and easy. Here's how.

Step by step

  1. Get your referral. We'll email your referral letter to you. Have it ready on your phone or print it out, either is fine.

  2. Prepare for your test. A little prep in the days before makes your results more accurate. Read our short guide first: How to prepare for your blood test

  3. Visit an approved collection centre. Take your referral to any of our partner centres (see the full list below). No booking is required, so you can walk in at your earliest convenience.

  4. Have your blood drawn. A trained collector will take your sample. It only takes a few minutes.

Where you can go

You can have your blood drawn at any of our approved partner collection centres across Australia. There are thousands of them, so there's almost certainly one near you.

Find your nearest centre, along with its opening hours, using our collection centre finder: https://app.bloodygoodtests.com.au/collection-centres

For standard blood draws, our approved pathology partners are:

  • Abbott Pathology

  • Australian Clinical Labs

  • Clinical Labs

  • Dorevitch Pathology

  • 4Cyte Pathology

  • IQ Pathology

  • Laverty Pathology

  • QML Pathology

  • Southern Sun Pathology

  • TML Pathology

  • Western Diagnostic Pathology

Some specialised tests, such as gut or genomic panels, are processed by dedicated labs. If your plan includes one of these, your referral will tell you exactly where to go.

What happens next

After your blood draw, it can take up to 10 business days for the lab to process your results and send them to Vively.

Once your results are ready, we'll notify you by email and push notification so you can view them in the Vively app.
