No — the Sibionics GS3 does not require scanning.
Once your sensor is applied and activated, glucose readings are sent automatically to your phone via Bluetooth every 5 minutes.
How GS3 works
Apply and activate the sensor
Open the Sibionics app
Follow the in-app instructions to apply and activate your GS3 sensor
Allow the warm-up period
After activation, there is a 60-minute warm-up period
No readings will appear during this time — this is normal
Connect to Vively
Open the Vively app
Tap “Set up a new sensor” and follow the prompts
Once connected, your glucose data will update automatically — no scanning or manual interaction is needed.
Keeping your connection smooth
To ensure uninterrupted readings:
Keep Bluetooth turned on
Keep your phone within 10 metres of the sensor
Allow both the Sibionics and Vively apps to run in the background
Avoid aggressive battery-saving or app-sleep settings
If your phone temporarily loses connection, readings will resume automatically once Bluetooth reconnects.
