The Sibionics GS3 sensor uses Bluetooth to continuously send glucose data — it does not require NFC scanning like some other CGM systems.

1. How does the Sibionics GS3 connect to your phone?

The GS3 sensor transmits glucose data automatically via Bluetooth once it’s applied and activated in the Sibionics app.

This means:

  • No scanning is needed

  • Bluetooth must be enabled

  • Your phone must support the Sibionics app

2. What phones are compatible?

General requirements

To use the Sibionics GS3 app with your smartphone, you need:

  • A Bluetooth-enabled phone

  • iOS or Android operating system that supports the Sibionics app

  • Background app permissions enabled (so the app continues syncing data)

Apple devices

  • iPhones capable of running the Sibionics GS3 app

  • No NFC requirement

Android devices

  • Android phones with Google Play Store support are required (devices without Play Store support are not compatible)

📌 Note: The Sibionics app may not be compatible with certain newer OS variants like Harmony OS NEXT without special install methods. For details and a downloadable compatibility list, see the official Sibionics mobile compatibility page.

3. Why is this different from scanning-based CGMs?

Unlike the Freestyle Libre system:

  • Libre relies on NFC scanning to collect each reading

  • Sibionics GS3 sends glucose data continuously via Bluetooth after activation

No phone needs to touch the sensor — it just needs to stay in Bluetooth range.

4. If your phone isn’t receiving data…

If glucose readings don’t appear in Vively:

  • Make sure Bluetooth is turned on

  • Keep the phone close to your sensor

  • Open the Sibionics app to restart syncing

  • Refresh the Vively app (pull down on the Track page)

  • Restart your phone if the problem persists
