How often can my client have another Baseline Health Check?

Repeat testing can help monitor changes over time and evaluate the impact of clinical interventions.

Many practitioners use repeat pathology testing to monitor progress, assess the effectiveness of treatment strategies and establish trends over time.

The Baseline Health Check is designed to support this ongoing approach to care.

When can a client have another Baseline Health Check?

There is no fixed limit on how often a client can undergo a Baseline Health Check.

The appropriate timing depends on the clinical circumstances and the testing pathway selected.

For clients using Vively's Medicare-supported pathway, the Baseline Health Check is generally available every three months for eligible clients.

Clients who are not eligible for the Medicare-supported pathway—or who require testing outside the Medicare pathway—can still access the Baseline Health Check through the private-pay pathway.

Medicare-supported and private-pay pathways

The Baseline Health Check is available through two pathways:

Medicare-supported pathway

Eligible clients with a valid Australian Medicare card can access the Baseline Health Check through Vively's Medicare-supported pathway.

As this pathway operates within the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS), some pathology items may be subject to Medicare eligibility requirements or frequency restrictions. As a result, not every biomarker may be available on every repeat test, even where the Baseline Health Check is repeated.

Private-pay pathway

The Baseline Health Check is also available through the private-pay pathway.

This pathway is not subject to Medicare funding rules, allowing practitioners to request testing whenever clinically appropriate.

Why repeat the Baseline Health Check?

A single pathology result provides a snapshot of your client's health at one point in time.

Repeat testing allows you to:

  • monitor changes in biomarkers over time

  • assess the impact of nutrition, lifestyle and treatment interventions

  • identify emerging trends

  • support ongoing clinical decision-making

  • provide clients with objective evidence of progress.

Many practitioners incorporate repeat testing into longer-term care programmes.

Will previous results still be available?

Yes.

Previous pathology results remain available within the Practitioner Dashboard, allowing you to compare results over time.

This makes it easier to review trends and discuss progress with your client during follow-up consultations.

Can I change the pathology panel next time?

Yes.

Every referral can be customised.

Some practitioners repeat the same panel to monitor changes over time, while others adjust the requested biomarkers based on the client's progress, symptoms or treatment goals.

You can:

  • repeat the Baseline Health Check

  • add or remove private-pay biomarkers

  • select different pre-built pathology bundles

  • create an entirely new customised pathology panel.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to repeat the same pathology panel?

No.

Each referral can be customised to suit your client's current clinical needs.

Can I repeat only a few biomarkers?

Yes.

You may choose to request only selected private-pay biomarkers rather than repeating the entire Baseline Health Check, depending on your clinical objectives.

Will I be able to compare previous results?

Yes.

The Practitioner Dashboard stores previous pathology results so you can monitor changes and review trends over time.
