Most routine pathology results are typically available within 3–5 business days after the client's sample has been collected.
Some specialised tests can take longer to process, so not all results will necessarily become available at the same time.
Why might results take longer?
There are several reasons pathology results may take longer than expected, including:
specialised biomarkers requiring additional processing
different tests being processed on different timelines
weekends or public holidays
delays at the pathology laboratory
additional processing or review being required.
Where can I check for results?
You can monitor your client's results from the Vively Practitioner Platform.
Open the relevant client and pathology referral to check whether results have been received.
As results are returned by the pathology provider, they'll become available through the platform according to the referral and result-release process.
What if only some results are available?
This can be normal.
Different biomarkers can have different processing times, particularly where the referral includes more specialised testing.
If some results have been received but others are still outstanding, the remaining results may still be processing with the pathology provider.
When should I contact Practitioner Support?
If it has been more than 5 business days since your client's sample was collected and you're concerned that results are still outstanding, please contact Practitioner Support.
For specialised tests, processing may take longer than this, but our team can help check the status where required.
When contacting us, please provide the client's name and email address, along with the approximate date their sample was collected.
