The Explore feature found within the Vivvix application is our custom reporting tool designed for reports requiring greater flexibility and granularly in detail. From time to time, you may have a need to pull a report showing only advertisers who appear locally in a market, or you may need to pull a report for national advertisers.

You may have noticed a sort apparent in STEP 2: LAYOUT of the Explore report set up process called National/Local:

This sort **DOES NOT** designate Advertisers as National or Local advertisers.

This sort will show the MEDIA types which are considered National or Local media types.

TO PULL A REPORT SHOWING LOCAL OR NATIONAL ADVERTISERS:

The Explore feature allows for the ability to create custom category groups which can be used in Explore reports.

Advertisers appearing in the Vivvix application are classified into specific categories which are designated as Local or National categories.

This means that you can create a custom category group containing all Local retail categories. You can also create a category group containing all categories which are considered National.

TO GET STARTED:

Navigate to STEP 4: BRANDS/CATEGORIES of the Explore report setup process.

Click into the Search Field on the left and select the Category level for your search.

Click the toggle shown at the top to Show Category Code.

The Vivvix category code classifications will appear to the left of the category names.

TO CREATE A CUSTOM CATEGORY GROUP FOR LOCAL CATEGORIES:

Scroll through the category list until you see categories designated with a "V".

Any categories with a "V" designation are considered the LOCAL retail categories.

Click the checkboxes to the left of each category to select the Local categories you would like to include in the custom category group.

We recommend selecting ALL local categories to ensure nothing is missed.

Click the Create Group button at the bottom

The category group you have created will appear at the bottom of the screen containing a list of the categories you have selected to include in the custom group.

Give your custom category group a Name and select Sharing options, if needed, so that your colleagues can also utilize the custom category group for their own reporting needs.

Click Save Group.

The LOCAL category group you have just created will now appear as a selected item in the Brands/Categories tab.

The group defaults initially to display as a single item.

Click on the icon shown above to remove the hashmark so that group members will display individually with a group total, if needed.

Click the Pencil Icon to edit the custom group.

To utilize your custom Local Advertisers/Local Categories group for future reports, navigate to STEP 4: BRANDS/CATEGORIES of the Explore report setup process and select the Group Level toggle which now appears at the bottom. You can then select the custom Local Advertisers/Local Categories custom group for your report.

TO CREATE A CUSTOM CATEGORY GROUP FOR NATIONAL CATEGORIES:

Repeat the same process as above, this time including ALL categories with category code designations of A, B, D, F, G, H, and T

Category designated A - T are considered the NATIONAL categories in Vivvix.

**PLEASE NOTE: Custom category groups can only be created at the Category or Subcategory classification levels.***

You can show the category code at every category classification level within the Vivvix Explore module, however, you will not be given the option to create custom groups at any other level than the Category or Subcategory levels.

Notice that Majors are selected below, but the option to Create Group will not appear.
