How to Include a Rank/Cutoff

Step-by-step on how to apply a rank/cutoff to custom reports run within the Explore feature

Rank

Ordering a report based on the selected measure in a descending order.

Cutoff

Setting a number below or above which activity will not be reported. For example, reporting only brands that spent more than $100,000 and less than $1,000,000. You must rank in order to cutoff within reports.


TO APPLY A RANK/CUTOFF TO EXPLORE REPORTS:

Go to STEP 2: LAYOUT within the Explore custom report setup process.

Select the SORTS needed for your report (left side).

The selected sorts will appear in the Selected SORTS and MEASURES column (right side).

**PLEASE NOTE: The option to Rank will only appear if two or fewer sorts are selected. DO NOT include more than two sorts if you would like to apply a rank.**

Select the measure needed in the MEASURES column (middle).

The selected measure will appear in the Selected SORTS and MEASURES column (right side).

TO APPLY A RANK/CUTOFF:

Click on the Ranking Icon next to the selected measure.

The option to apply a rank/cutoff will appear.

Description

None

Items ranked alphabetically

All

Items ranked in descending order

Top___ Items

EX: Top 100, Top 250, Top 500

Top___ % of Items

Top %. Based on % Down or % Across calculation

Select Level of Detail to Rank

Base the rank on the TOTAL column or any other column selected as the column type.

The example below shows ranking based on the Time Period column selection in STEP 2: LAYOUT, with a monthly breakout selected in STEP 5: TIME PERIODS.

The rank can be applied to the measure selected or to a calculation which has been applied in STEP 2: LAYOUT

Rank numbers can also be included.

TO APPLY A CUTOFF:

Check the Include Cutoff box.

Specify the cutoff criteria, whether you are including a maximum cutoff, a minimum cutoff, or both.

Click Apply at the bottom.

A blue dot will appear next to the Ranking Icon indicating that Ranking/Cutoff options have been included.
