FAQs
Q1: Why is my Diversity Dashboard empty?
Answer: Your dashboard may be empty because you haven't configured it yet, Diversity Question Settings aren't enabled, you haven't assigned clients, countries, or disciplines to jobs, there's insufficient applicant data, or jobs are being processed outside Volcanic.
Q2: Do I need to set diversity goals?
Answer: No, diversity goals are optional and can be disabled at any time.
Q3: Can I track data for a specific client?
Answer: Yes, you can configure a custom dashboard for any client in Dashboard Configuration.
Q4: How is diversity data collected?
Answer: Diversity data is collected through applicant self-reporting and, if enabled, AI predictions for gender, ethnicity, and age.
Q5: Can applicants skip diversity questions?
Answer: Yes, applicants can always skip diversity questions or select Prefer not to say.
Q6: What is Current Diversity?
Answer: Current Diversity is a workforce baseline you set manually in the configuration, used to compare against applicant data.
Q7: What if I can't find my client, country, or discipline in the dropdown?
Answer: You'll need to add it first under Reference Data in the admin area.
Q8: Will data updates affect my existing dashboard?
Answer: Yes, updates such as the new ONS-standard ethnicity categories are applied automatically across your system.
Q9: Will the dashboard work if I use an external applicant tracking system?
Answer: If your job applications are processed outside Access Volcanic (for example, through Vincere Engage or another system), your Diversity Dashboard may not display data. Contact your account manager to discuss possible integrations or consider routing applications through Volcanic.
Q10: Does the dashboard work with Vincere Engage?
Answer: Integration support for Vincere Engage is currently in development. Contact your account manager for the latest updates and expected availability.
Q11: Why do some diversity questions not appear in certain countries?
Answer: Some diversity questions cannot legally be asked in certain countries. The system automatically enforces global compliance based on local laws.
Q12: How much data do I need before the dashboard displays results?
Answer: Your dashboard will remain empty until sufficient applicant data has been collected. The exact amount depends on the number of applications and diversity characteristics you're tracking.
Q13: Can I see individual applicant diversity data?
Answer: No, all applicant data is anonymised and displayed only in aggregate form to protect privacy and comply with data protection regulations.
