Know Your Game: see your swing next to a pro's
Know Your Game is live in your Volley app. Pick a shot you want to work on, run the assessment on the trainer at your club, and the app shows you your swing side by side with a pro hitting the same stroke — along with what you're doing well and what to change.
No scores, no ratings. Just your swing, the pro's swing, and what's different.
Where to find it
Open the Volley app and tap Know Your Game — it's the first item on your home screen.
Check the sport selector at the top of the left menu first. Know Your Game shows the assessments for the sport you have selected, so if you're set to Pickleball you won't see the platform tennis list.
Pick a shot
Know Your Game isn't one long test. It's a library of assessments, each built around a single shot, so you can go straight to the part of your game you want to work on.
For platform tennis that includes serves (spin, kick, and underhand roller), forehand and two-handed backhand drives, return drives, overheads, rollers, slashes, cutters, screen-drives, screen-lobs, and backhand volleys. Each has a short description of what it covers — "Master the fundamental forehand drive off of short reset (push) overheads," for instance.
Not sure where to start? Pick the shot that loses you the most points.
Tap Play on the one you want.

Set up and start
Tell the app how you play. Choose your Dominant Hand (Right or Left) and Backhand Style (One-Handed or Two-Handed). Both are required — the app uses them to feed the ball to the right side.
Tap Let's Go.
Watch the setup clip. You'll get a short video of a pro on court with the trainer, plus written instructions for the drill — where to stand, what the machine will feed you, and what to aim for. Read it before you start. It's the rep you're about to be measured on, so knowing the intent makes the feedback land.
Tap Connect to pair with the trainer, then hit the shots as they come. The cameras on court capture your swings — nothing to set up, nothing to record yourself.
Most assessments are a single workout, so this is a short session.
Reading your results
Open your assessment when it's ready. The layout adapts to your screen, so it'll look a little different on your phone than on a laptop, but it's the same four pieces.
What you did well, and what to work on. At the top you'll get a few plain-language cards. Green ones are marked Strength, orange ones Work On This, and each explains itself in a sentence or two against the pro — for example: "The pro shifts weight significantly to the front foot during the finish, while you remain centered. Focus on driving your weight toward the net." Start here. If you only read one part, read this.
Swing by swing. Your session is split into individual swings — Swing 1, Swing 2, Swing 3 — as tabs. Tap between them to see each one on its own, since the same stroke can go right once and wrong the next time.
Side-by-side video. Your swing plays next to the pro hitting the same stroke, so you can see the difference rather than read about it. Replay it as many times as you like.
Metric details. Underneath, you can open a chart comparing one measurement across your swing and the Pro Reference line, broken into the five phases of the stroke: preparation, backswing, contact, follow-through, and recovery. Pick what you want to look at from the Metric menu:
Balance — weight distribution, balance
Body position — hand height, elbow height, hand separation, spine angle, side lean
Rotation — shoulder rotation, hip rotation
Joint angles — knee bend, elbow bend
Speed and power — hand speed
This is the detail behind the cards at the top. If a card tells you to shift your weight forward, Weight Distribution is where you can watch it happen.
Come back and retest
Run an assessment again whenever you want, and take one or two things from your feedback into practice in between.
Once you've run an assessment, its card in Know Your Game picks up a Results button next to Play. Tap it to see all of your past attempts at that shot, so everything you've done on your forehand drive lives on the forehand drive card.
Sessions open one at a time — you can't put two side by side in the app yet. If you want a direct before-and-after, note the feedback from your earlier session before you retest, then check it against the new one.
A couple of things to know
If you have to stop partway through, resume rather than restart. An unfinished assessment stays pending. Next time you open it you'll see a Resume Existing button — use that. Starting fresh instead permanently deletes the progress you'd already made.
A swing is missing, or has no video. This usually means it wasn't fully captured — a ball hit well outside the capture zone, or a swing that didn't connect. Those are skipped. Running the assessment again is the fastest fix.
