Welcome to the world of Volunteero - we're delighted to have you here!
Your organisation may choose to enable a check-in/ check-out feature on your shifts. This is a great tool for letting them know that you arrived and left your shift all within the Volunteero app.
Feel free to jump to the relevant sections:
Checking into a shift on a device
When you're ready to check into your shift:
Head into the app, and on your Home page, you'll be able to see all of the shifts you have joined under 'Shifts'.
Click into the shift you would like to check into
If you're within the check-in window, you'll be able to see a big 'Check In' button at the bottom of the screen
If you're too early, you'll be able to see the earliest time you can check in here
Once you're ready, hit 'Check In'.
QR code check-in
Alternatively, your organisation may choose to use the QR code check-in method, where you have to scan a QR code onsite in order to check in.
To check in via the QR code:
Open the Volunteero app and head into 'Profile'.
Tap 'Scan QR Code'
Scan the QR code onsite
Hit 'Check in'
You'll be able to see, on the app, that you've successfully checked in.
You'll also be able to see the option to 'Tap to check out'. Continue reading the next section to find out more about how to check out of your shifts!
Checking out of a shift and submitting a report
Once you're ready to check out
Click the 'Tap to check out' button (as shown in the screenshots above).
Here, you'll see your total volunteer time for that shift (you can always adjust the time if needed).
Click 'Fill Out Report & Check out'
If this mission has reporting, fill out the report as you would (because you used the check-in/check-out feature, your volunteering hours should prepopulate in the report)
When you're ready, hit 'Submit & Check Out'.
You'll then get a little banner pop-up at the bottom of the screen confirming that you've checked out successfully.
