Use the below links to jump to the section you'd like to learn about.

Ongoing, Available and Pending tabs

You will notice three tabs at the top of the screen when you open the app. Here are the functions of each tab:

  • Ongoing - If you have claimed a mission and been approved, the mission will appear here. Note that you may also be assigned missions by your charity and they will appear here also.

  • Available - Here is where you can see missions available to you. You are able to filter and search missions. All available missions are created and published by your charity so if you have any questions, please reach out to your charity.

  • Pending - If you have requested approval to a mission it will appear here until approved by your charity

Browsing missions

When browsing missions, you can see most of the important information about that mission including:

  • Client - The text in bold at the top of the missions states who the client is. Essentially this is who you will be volunteering for. Sometimes this may be an individual or other times it may be an organisation for example the charity themselves

  • Mission type - The text immediately below the client name states the type of mission it is, this is the type of task or activity you will be conducting

  • Location - Where you will need to go for the mission. If you cannot see a distance from you then you will need to enable location services, see the App Settings article

  • Start and end date - If the mission has a specific start and end date then it will show on the mission overview however some missions are open-ended and will not have a specific start and end date.

  • Mission details - You will see some text which provides more information on the mission, open the mission to see the full details

Search and filter missions

You can press in the Search missions bar to search or filter your Available missions list.

You can sort by:

  • Last contacted - This is if the mission involves contact with a client, you will see when the client was last spoken to

  • Newest - This will sort by the latest missions to be added

  • Nearest - This will sort by those missions that are closest to your location. Please ensure location services are enabled, to do those see our article titled App Settings

You can filter by:

  • Organisation - This will show the organisations you volunteer for

  • Mission type - These are the types of activities offered by the organisations you volunteer for

Accept or request approval

Once in a mission, you will be presented with one of two buttons at the top of the mission.

  1. "Accept mission" - This will immediately ensure your spot on that mission, you will find the mission in your Ongoing mission tab

  2. "Request approval" - This will send an approval request to your charity, until approved this will remain in your Pending missions tab. Once approved you will receive a notification and the mission will show in your Ongoing missions tab. For any questions relating to an approval request you have made please contact your charity

Being assigned with a mission

On occasion, your charity may assign you with a mission. You will receive a notification, either email or push notification, to inform you of this and you will then be able to find the mission in your Ongoing missions tab. For any questions relating to a mission, you have been assigned with please contact your charity

If you have a query relating to accessing or using the app, please email our support team at support@volunteero.org and one of our friendly team will be happy to help. If the query relates to the volunteering aspect then we recommend you contact the charity you volunteer for.
