Budgets Overview
Users can view the monthly or named budget per expenditure group and subcategory
On the Budgets page you can complete the following with the appropriate permissions in place;
Select the budget month or named budget to view
View the Expenditure Groups and the subcategories with the budget amounts
Import a Budget
Add a new budget month or named budget
Edit your budget values individually.
Import a Budget
Click on the Budget tab in the top navigation bar
You might need to add the months in the Budget list if the period you wish to add the budget for is not in the dropdown list yet.
To add a budget, click Add Budget + and select the budget type you wish to add. Then click Add Budget.
Once your budget is in the list, click Export Budget to get the template file
Enter your budget per category and save the CSV file on your device. When entering the budget per category, ensure you follow the guidelines below.
Do not have commas in values (e.g. 1,000 should be 1000)
The categories on the budget MUST match the current categories on your vessel (and if you want to add new categories, do this before uploading the budget)
Where there is no budgeted amount for a category, input 0 as the value
Do not edit the date - use the dates in Row 1 as they appear when you export the file
Once ready, click Import Budget and select the CVS file from your device. You have the option the select the date format. To lock the budgets, tick the box and enter your password (login details). Then, click Import Budget.
Please Note: once the file is imported, all previous data will be wiped out and replaced with the date on the file

As well as the standard monthly budgets, you can create ‘Named Budgets’ which are not constrained to specific months, allowing more flexibility with your budgets.
Once you have a budget imported you can view multiple budgets at once, including the full financial year. Both monthly and named budgets can be viewed together.
As well as being able to edit multiple budgets at once, you can lock one budget whilst editing another all on the same page.
Named budgets can be assigned to transactions across the system including at line level. They can also be listed in any order once created. So when selecting the budget from the drop-down menu the Budget will show in the order of your choice. This can be done from the Budget Tile found on your Settings page.
Monthly and Named budgets can be reported together or separately. Named Budgets can be seen in the following reports. Transaction detail report, Income/Expenditure report, Transaction category report, Extended transaction detail report and the Budget to Actual report
Budgets can also be made 'Active' and 'Inactive' under the Budget Tile found on your Settings Page. This allows you to remove budgets from the drop-down view when adding transactions to the system and also for reporting. The budget will still be in the system for you to refer back to if needed.
