What images can I use for my Steer?

Are you legally allowed to use images you find on the internet?

When you’re ready to run a steer but don’t have an image on hand, it’s easy to simply search online and grab an image from the results. It’s important to be aware that this isn’t always legal. The responsibility for the legality of images you use rests with you, the customer.

We recommend the following options to ensure you stay within the law:

  1. Using images you or someone in your company created. This includes photos you have taken, or any graphics made

  2. Purchasing image rights from a website such as Shutterstock or iStock

  3. Using images from a public domain website like Pixabay or Morguefile

  4. If you find the image on social media, contact the user and ask for permission

Simply taking an image from the internet and referencing the source does not negate copyright infringement.
