How to Test a Flow in WABB

Before making your flow publicly available in WABB, it's essential to test it to ensure it functions as expected. This tutorial will guide you through two methods to test your flow: using contacts and using automation.

Methods for Testing a Flow in WABB

There are two main ways to test a flow in WABB:

  1. Testing with Contacts

  2. Testing with Automation

Method 1: Testing with Contacts

This method allows you to manually trigger a flow for a specific contact.

  1. Create a New Contact:

    • Navigate to the Contacts section.

    • Create a new contact by entering the name and phone number.

  2. Trigger the Flow:

    • If the contact already exists, click on the contact’s name.

    • A menu will appear with more options.

    • Click the three dots (ellipsis) icon and select Run Flow.

  3. Select the Flow:

    • A list of available flows will appear.

    • Choose the flow you want to test.

  4. Check the Flow:

    • You can also go to the Live Chats section to view the full content of the message sent as part of the flow.

Method 2: Testing with Automation

This method triggers a flow based on a keyword sent by the user.

  1. Create a New Keyword:

    • Go to the Automation menu and click on Create New Keyword.

    • Give your keyword a name and select the flow you want to test.

  2. Set Conditions:

    • Choose a condition for the keyword. There are three conditions you can set in WABB:

      • Is: An exact match of the word or phrase.

      • Begins with: The message starts with the keyword.

      • Contains: The keyword appears anywhere in the message.

  3. Add Keywords:

    • Enter the keywords or phrases that the client must send to trigger the flow. For example, you can use keywords like “hi”, “hello”, or “test”.

    • When a user sends any of these keywords to a WABB-connected number, the flow will be triggered automatically.

  4. Activate Automation:

    • Don’t forget to turn on the automation to ensure the flow will be triggered when the keyword is received.

By following these steps, you can test your flow to ensure it works as intended before sharing it with your users. Whether you choose to test with contacts or automation, WABB makes it easy to verify your flow’s functionality.
