The Auto-Off feature in WhatsApp Bot Builder (WABB) is designed to enhance user experience by pausing automated bot responses for a set time period. This prevents unnecessary replies and keeps conversations smooth and relevant.
Purpose of Auto-Off
Avoid Unnecessary Responses: For instance, if a conversation ends with “We’ll contact you in 24 hours,” and the user replies with “Thanks,” you might not want the bot to continue the dialogue. Auto-Off prevents this by disabling default responses for a specified time, so the conversation remains natural and focused.
How to Implement Auto-Off
Access the Content Block:
Navigate to the content block where you’d like to apply Auto-Off.
Insert the Auto-Off Element:
Select the "Disable" element within the content block.
Configure the time duration (in hours, minutes, or seconds) for which you want to disable the bot's default reply.
Placement in Flow:
Place the Auto-Off element at any point in your flow (beginning, middle, or end) based on where interruptions are likely to occur, ensuring a smooth conversation flow.
