The Walla Promotions and Promo Codes features provide extensive customization for client discounts. Read on to learn how to utilize Promotions.
Create a Promotion
Promotions can be created from the Marketing section of your Walla software.
Go to the Marketing Center tab from the main navigation and select Promo Codes
1. Select the + Add New Promotion button
2. Enter your Promotion name (This is the name that will appear on receipts)
3. Choose whether the promotion discount is a percentage or dollar amount
4. Select one or more the following categories the Promotion will apply to: Retail, Classes, Enrollments, Courses, and Plans.
If you selected Plans as a Promotion Category you define the number of auto pay payments the promotion will apply to by choosing a promotion timeframe. You can choose whether the promotion will apply to all payments, just one payment, or a specific number of payments. (If your promotion will not apply to plans leave the default ‘apply to all payments’ selected).
To have the promotion apply to a specific retail item select Apply to Specific Items. From the drop-down choose retail items.
To have the promotion apply to a specific plan select Apply to Specific Items. From the drop-down choose plan and select the plan you'd like the promotion to apply to.
To create promotion code to apply to drop-ins classes choose Classes
5. All Payments - the plan will auto renew with all payments discounted.
6. Just Once - only the 1st payment is discounted, renewal is not applied.
7. # Of Payments - only the specified number of payments receive a discount as entered, no further discounts apply.
Note: The change membership feature does not carry over discounts/ promotions from the initial plan.
Promotions cannot be applied to an enrollment with multiple payments.
Apply an expiration date to all promo codes created under this promotion by selecting Promotion expiration date and choosing an end date.
You can select Save to save your Promotion and create Promo Codes later. Or, you can select Save & Add Promo Code to continue to add codes.
Create a Promotion Code
From the main navigation menu select Promotion Codes, select the three dots to the far right of a Promotion, and choose View Details.
Choose Add a Code
Enter the code you will give to your customers. Ex. NEWYEAR2022. A random code will be generated for you if the field is left blank. Entering a Promo Code name and not selecting any checkboxes will create a Promo Code that can be used by an unlimited number of customers, can be redeemed an unlimited amount of times, and has no expiration.
If you want to put further restrictions on your promo code select one or more of the following options:
Limit number of instances this promo code can be redeemed (in total): This means the total times the code can be used, not per client. This setting may sound like it limits the number of times a code can be redeemed for an individual while still allowing you to give out as many codes as you'd like. In actuality, it limits the literal number of times the code can be redeemed in total For example: If you created a code with this setting set to 20 and you gave out the code to 20 people, one person can use the code 5 times, leaving only 15 total redemptions period.
Create a limit for the number of times this code can be redeemed per client: This setting is typically set to 1. This is the per client limit.
Promo code expiration date
Require a minimum order
Restrict this code to customers who have never made a purchase: Any customer who doesn’t have a blank Transaction history in their profile will not be eligible.
Promo code for specific client use only: Allow only specific clients to use the Promo Code.
Promo code expiration date
Require a minimum order: Specify a dollar amount that must be met in order for the promo code to be used. Requirement is before/ after tax.
Reusing an Expired Promo Code
Open Promotion with expired promo code.
Select the three dots to the right of promo code.
Select Archive.
Confirm to complete archiving.
Add New Code in desired promotion.
Enter code and details.
Save.
Things to know
If an item that has had a promotion applied is refunded the promotion code will not be able to be used again.
Promotions can be either a percentage discount or fixed-amount discount which can be applied to eligible purchases.
You can include special conditions for use and redemption limits that will be applied to all promo codes created under your promotion.
When you set up a promotion code on Walla, you create a code that clients can use in-store or online at checkout to get a discount.
Within a promotion, each promo code can have customized restrictions, expirations, and requirements. The codes also have their own individually assigned customization within a single promotion.
