How to Retarget Visitors From Your Landing Page (URL-Based Retargeting)

What The Walled Garden Conversion Pixel Does

Walled Garden allows you to retarget people who have visited specific pages on your website or landing pages.

This means you can:

  • follow up with people who showed interest

  • re-engage visitors who didn’t submit your form

  • build full-funnel campaigns that convert more leads

Instead of advertising to cold audiences, you’re now advertising to people who already know you.

Important: This Only Works If Your Pixel Is Installed

Before you can use retargeting, you must install the Walled Garden Conversion Pixel on your landing page or website.

Why this matters:

Retargeting works by tracking who visits your page.

  • No pixel = no tracking

  • No tracking = no audience

  • No audience = no retargeting

How It Works

  1. You install the Walled Garden pixel on your landing page

  2. Someone visits your page

  3. The pixel records that visit

  4. Walled Garden builds an audience of those visitors

  5. You run ads to that audience

The pixel is what makes the entire system possible.

Before You Run A Campaign

Make sure:

  • your Walled Garden pixel is installed on the page

  • your page has received traffic

  • Walled Garden is detecting PageViews

If your pixel is not installed, this feature will not work.

If your page has no visitors yet, there will be no one to retarget.

How To Install The Pixel

  1. Click on the Conversion tab in your Walled Garden menu

  2. Copy the code snippet or navigate to "View Installation Guide"

  3. Verify the domain where you will place the pixel

  4. Place the pixel in your website's header

  5. Confirm success.

Step-by-Step: How to Retarget a Specific URL

Step 1: Go to the Ad Builder

Create a new campaign or edit an existing one.

Step 2: Navigate to Audience Selection

In the audience section, select:

Pixel Data Retargeting

Step 3: Select Your Landing Page(s)

You’ll see a list of your tracked pages where the pixel is installed.

Each page appears here because the pixel has detected traffic on that page

Example:

  • Open House Page

  • Seller Guide Page

  • Home Valuation Page

Select one or more pages you want to retarget.

Step 4: Launch Your Campaign

Once selected, Walled Garden will:

  • automatically create a retargeting audience

  • use your pixel data

  • target people who visited those specific pages

No manual setup required.

What Happens Behind the Scenes

When someone visits your page:

  1. The pixel tracks the visit

  2. That visitor is added to a retargeting audience

  3. When you select that page, your ads are shown to those people

This process only works because the pixel is installed and collecting data.

Example Use Cases

Open House Follow-Up

Someone visits your open house page but doesn’t take action.

Retarget them with:

  • “Don’t miss this home”

  • “Join us this weekend”

Seller Funnel

Someone visits your home value page.

Retarget them with:

  • “Find out what your home is worth”

  • “Get your custom seller report”

Lead Recovery

Someone visits but doesn’t submit your form.

Retarget them with:

  • testimonials

  • urgency messaging

  • reminders

Common Issues

“I don’t see any pages to select”

This usually means:

  • the pixel is not installed

  • or the page hasn’t received any visitors yet

“My audience isn’t working”

Check:

  • is the pixel installed on that page?

  • has the page received traffic?

  • are PageViews showing in Walled Garden?

Retargeting works best when paired with Conversion campaigns. First: use Conversion campaigns to drive traffic and generate leads Then: use retargeting to bring visitors back and convert more of them
