Different methods to add money to your account

How can I add money my account?

From your Home dashboard, go to + Add money. You can choose from 3 different options to top up your account.

  1. Bank transfer: Receive money from another bank account into your wamo account details (you can do this in either EUR or GBP)

  2. Apple Pay: Add money securely with any card saved in your Apple Wallet

  3. Credit/Debit card: Add money by entering your card details

How long will it take to add money to my account via bank transfer?

If the payment is made via a SEPA transfer, it typically takes 1-3 business days to arrive. For example, if the bank transfer is from an EU country to your Euro account (with either an NL or GB IBAN) the payment will be sent via a SEPA transfer.

If the payment is made locally to your GB account via Faster Payments then it can take up to 2 hours but is typically instant. For example, if the bank transfer is made from another local UK account.

Coming soon: We are currently working on offering you the option to send and receive international (SWIFT) payments - meaning payments from a country outside of the SEPA zone.

How long will the payment take via credit/debit card (including Apple Pay)?

Currently, we settle card payments on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. This is to avoid charging a fee for an instant card settlement.

If, for example, you top up using a debit or credit card on a Saturday, the money will arrive in your account 2 days later on the following Monday.

Does wamo business accept cash or cheque deposits?

We don’t accept cash or cheque deposits. Our mission is to empower businesses with digital banking and payments that are accessible, innovative, and simple to use.

By when do I have to add money to my account after opening it?

We ask you to add money to your account within one week of opening it to get it ready for business and to cover your first monthly subscription fee. If you are unable to do so or are only planning on using your account later on, please let your dedicated sales rep know or our support team through out live chat.
