Track local competitors, rankings, and review data using live Google Places information.

The Competitor Monitor helps you track businesses competing for the same customers in your market.

It pulls live data from Google Places so you can compare:

  • Review counts

  • Ratings

  • Rankings

  • Local competitors

This gives you a clearer picture of where you stand and where opportunities exist.


How to open it

  1. Go to Tools

  2. Click Track competitors


Initial setup

The first time you use the tool, you’ll complete a three-step setup wizard.


Step 1: Search your market

Service or Category

Enter the service you provide.

Good examples:

  • Window cleaning

  • HVAC repair

  • Residential lawn care

Avoid broad categories like:

  • Cleaning

  • Home services

Market

Enter your city or metro area.

Examples:

  • Frisco, TX

  • Portland, OR

Business lookup

The tool uses your saved business name from DaVinci Settings to help identify your listing.

Click Find my business to continue.


Step 2: Confirm your business

Select your business from the results list.

This ensures the tool can correctly calculate your rankings relative to competitors.

Can’t find your business?

Try:

  • Adjusting the service description

  • Expanding the market area

  • Verifying your Google Business Profile


Step 3: Build your watchlist

Choose up to 10 competitors to track.

Tips for selecting competitors

  • Track businesses you genuinely compete with

  • Include top-ranked competitors

  • Avoid businesses outside your service area

Once approved, your watchlist is saved.


Refreshing competitor data

Google review counts and rankings change over time.

To update the latest numbers:

  1. Open the watchlist

  2. Click the refresh icon on a competitor card

You can rerun the setup wizard anytime.
