When a product is out of stock, it's important to mark it as unavailable to prevent buyers from placing orders.
Go to Products on the left-hand menu.
Enter the name or code to search for the product that is out of stock.
Select the product and head over to the Stock Settings tab.
Choose the appropriate option:
Low Stock Warning – This can be applied when the product has low stock.
Out of Stock – Once this is applied, the product will be marked as out of stock and cannot be added to the cart unless 'Back Orders Allowed' is selected. You can also set a date from which buyers will be able to add the product again.
Save the changes.
