When processing a name change of a booking, both parties must understand the transfer and ensure all pre-booked options and payment obligations and deadlines are clearly understood. If the process is completed before the payment deadline, this is free of charge, processing after the payment deadline, the name change fee is £50.

Processing before your booking payment deadline

Please note that almost all booking options can be amended before the payment deadline so the new booker can make changes, however, if the original booker has selected an accommodation upgrade they will need to accept the accommodation selected, or upgrade to a higher accommodation level if available, the new booker won't be able to downgrade.

Travel Insurance cannot be transferred between clients.

Transfer Booking Steps:

  • Find someone to transfer your booking to.

  • Confirm the travel dates, price, payment deadline and your current selected booking options with the new booker. This includes any accommodation upgrades that they may not be able to change.

  • Once you are both happy to transfer the booking, log in to your Wasteland Travel account and go to view your booking.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and select TRANSFER BOOKING.

  • Submit the email address of the new booker and click REQUEST TRANSFER.

We will then check there is a verified account under that email address and that they don't have a booking on this package already, this includes cancelled or a waiting list booking.

  • Once the above checks have been done you will see Email Validated, Please Confirm Booking Transfer.

  • To complete the transfer, click CONFIRM TRANSFER. The booking will then no longer be in your name or on your Wasteland account. The transfer is complete and the new booker will have received a booking confirmation email.

  • You then need to arrange between yourselves the transfer of any payments you made towards the booking.

As an example, the original booker paid £150 towards the booking, the name change is free of charge, so the new booker pays the original booker £150.

Processing after your payment deadline

PLEASE NOTE: Name changes can only be made to a booking up until 1 day prior to departure. In order to make a name change, you and the new booker first have to confirm the change in writing.

All you need to do is simply email us at help@wastelandtravel.comand provide the name and email address of the new booker - please ensure you enter this accurately. We'll then contact both of you to make sure you are both happy with the name change process.

Important to note that after the payment deadline, booking options will be frozen, confirmed and booked with our suppliers so booking amendments will not be possible.

The New Booker must take the booking, accepting all pre-booked options including rooming allocations, transport options, equipment hire and the payment conditions. It is the responsibility of both parties to arrange payment between themselves.

Key Points:

  • The New Booker must have a Wasteland Travel Account already created before you request the Name Change. Please ensure the email address that the Original Booker enters is the one that the New Booker has created an account with.

  • The New Booker will receive an email from us asking them to agree to the terms of the booking.

  • The Original and New Bookers must both accept the name change email sent to them to confirm the name change.

  • Once done, the name change is complete through Wasteland Travel.

Please note that there will be a £50 admin fee to any name changes made after the payment deadline

Any money already paid on the booking will be left to sort out between yourselves. Any changes that need to be made to the booking are also subject to the conditions found in our Terms and Conditions.

When the damage deposit gets returned, it will be returned to the new owners account as they'll be asked for bank details in order to claim this back.
