Seller Features

Can I sell products and/or services?

Yes. You can sell physical products, digital products, and services. Services might be installation or maintenance activities or professional services. Whatever you provide you can sell on watersorted.

Do I have to provide pricing on my products/services?

No. If you don’t wish to provide pricing you can have potential buyers request a price for a product/service. This will initiate our product RFQ process.

What is the RFQ process?

There are three types of request for quite (RFQ). A product RFQ is where a buyer will ask you for a price of a product or service that you list. You respond on the platform with a price, negotiate and hopefully agree a transaction. Payment is via card using Stripe Connect or the buyer can issue you a purchase order for you to invoice against using your system (if you are on a paid plan).

A closed RFQ is where a buyer invites a number of sellers to provide pricing for a product or service. You can choose to respond or not if you are invited.

An open RFQ is where a buyer asks anyone on the marketplace listing in certain categories to provide a price for a product or service. You can choose to respond or not.

How do I handle shipping

You can set up shipping options manually that get applied at checkout or use our API integration with the following shipping apps: Shipstation, Shipengine and Easypost.

Can I run promotions?

Yes, you can run special price promotions and volume discounts. You can also offer buy together products and services and set up similar products.

Can I sell product/service options?

Yes, you can set up product options e.g. dose pump with different capacities, or a 1, 3 or 5 day HAZOP facilitation.

Can I cancel my account at any time?

Yes. You can request to have your account closed at any time.

Seller Registration

How much does it cost to register as a seller?

Nothing. It is free to register as a seller. All we need to do is collect some details about you and your organisation. You’ll pay a commission on any sales you make on our Free plan and you can only accept credit/debit card payments. We have paid subscription plans with more selling features and zero percent commission.

I just want to list my business. Can I do that?

Yes. Register using our free plan and set up your shopfront as a listing in 10 minutes. You can add your logo, a background image, a description, a phone number, a website address, and social media links. You can list in up to 50 categories.

Can multiple people from my organisation join my account?

Yes. The account owner can invite people as sub-users. The account owner can set the permissions for any sub-user.

Can I register as a seller and a buyer?

Yes. Once you’ve registered as a seller you can request access to the buyer dashboard.

Can I pay the subscription annually?

If you select a paid subscription plan you can choose to pay monthly or annually. Paying annually gives you two months for free a 16.7% saving.

Can I pay the subscription via invoicing and bank transfer?

Yes. You will need to provide a purchase order number and we will invoice you using the PO#. You can then pay via bank transfer.

How can buyers pay for my products or services?

Buyers can pay by card using Stripe Connect for sellers on any plan or by issuing a purchase order number if the sellers are on one of our paid plans. The seller then invoices against the PO# using their own invoicing system.

What counts as an RFQ response?

Any time you provide a potential buyer with a price is counted as an RFQ response, whether it’s a response to a product, closed or open RFQ.

What is the product inventory count?

This is the total number of product variants you can have in your shop. For example if you had 1 product in your shop with 3 different sizes you would have 3 product variants in your product inventory.

What if I can't find the product or service I want?

You detail what you want and ask the marketplace to respond either via a closed request for quote (RFQ) or an open RFQ.

What if I’ve got a service provider panel or can only use approved vendors?

Have your panel members or approved vendors join watersorted and set them up as your favourites. You can then select to address RFQs to your favourites only.

How do I know the sellers are genuine?

All sellers that list products/services or who can respond to RFQs have to go through a 3rd party vendor approval process. We will have verified they are who they say they are via Stripe Connect. Sellers who are verified have a green tick.

Do you have a review system?

Yes. You can review sellers and their products.

Buyer Registration

How much does it cost to register as a buyer?

Nothing. It is free to register as a buyer. All we need to do is collect some details about you and your organisation.

Can multiple people from my organisation join my account?

Yes. The account owner can invite people as sub-users. The account owner can set the permissions for any sub-user.

Can I register as a buyer and a seller?

Yes. Once you’ve registered as a buyer you will also have access to the seller dashboard where you can start the seller registration process. Note that we need to collect more information to complete the seller registration process.

Can I cancel my account at any time?

Yes. You can request to have your account closed at any time.
