Surveys Overview Video

Getting Started with Surveys

Surveys in Wave help you understand how your team actually feels. They make it easy to gather real feedback, identify trends, and create a faster feedback loop that helps you improve as a company.

Every great business listens to its people. Surveys are designed to make that process simple and actionable. Instead of guessing what your team needs, you can measure engagement, alignment, and satisfaction directly. The result is better communication, stronger culture, and continuous improvement.

Surveys can be used for a variety of purposes, such as gathering employee sentiment, running performance check-ins, or collecting feedback after projects or meetings. Each survey provides insight that helps you understand what is working well and where attention is needed.

How Surveys Work

Inside Wave, Surveys are quick to create and even faster to complete. Each survey contains a small number of questions designed to deliver meaningful insight without overwhelming your team.

Wave supports a variety of question formats, including:

  • 1–10 scale ratings for measuring satisfaction or agreement

  • 5-star reviews for quick impressions

  • 5-box selections for identifying strengths or opportunities

Responses are easy to collect and review. You can view summary results, track participation, and identify patterns over time. Admins can also use the data to measure progress and see how company health changes from one survey to the next.

Surveys connect naturally with other parts of Wave. Insights can be shared in Meetings, reviewed alongside Scorecards, or discussed in Pulse to help turn feedback into action.

Best Practices for Using Surveys

To get the most value from Surveys, follow these best practices:

  1. Keep them short. Limit each survey to five or fewer questions. Focus on quality insights over quantity.

  2. Ask clear questions. Use simple, direct language so everyone understands what is being asked.

  3. Stay consistent. Run surveys on a regular cadence so you can track trends and spot changes early.

  4. Share the results. Let your team know what you learned and what actions will be taken. This builds trust.

  5. Close the loop. Always follow feedback with meaningful action or communication so your team feels heard.

Why Surveys Matter

Feedback is the foundation of growth. Surveys help your company listen, learn, and adapt with speed and confidence.

When you understand how your team feels, you can make smarter decisions, strengthen engagement, and build a culture of transparency. Wave makes the process seamless, turning responses into insights and insights into action.
