List Overview Video
Getting Started with List
List in Wave is where ideas, issues, and tasks come together. It gives your team a single place to capture what needs attention and turn it into clear next steps.
If you are familiar with the EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) framework, this will feel familiar. List takes the traditional Issues and To-Do lists and gives them an upgrade. Instead of juggling notes, whiteboards, or spreadsheets, everything lives in one connected workspace where items can be tracked, prioritized, and resolved.
For startups, List becomes the foundation for execution. It helps you organize discussions, assign accountability, and make sure that every problem has a clear path to resolution.
How List Works
Each item in List can represent an issue, idea, or task. Items can be categorized, assigned to an owner, given a due date, and linked to other tools inside Wave such as Rocks, Meetings, or Projects.
During weekly meetings, you can use List to review open issues and mark them as solved or carried forward. This keeps your team aligned and ensures that nothing falls through the cracks.
You can also create personal or team Lists to manage focus areas across departments. Every item can move from “open” to “completed,” making progress visible and measurable.
Because List connects with the rest of Wave, you never need to copy or duplicate items. When something comes up in a Meeting, it can be added directly to List and tracked from there.
Best Practices for Using List
To get the most value from List, follow these best practices:
Capture everything. If something needs attention, add it to List. Getting it out of your head keeps things clear.
Prioritize regularly. Review your Lists each week and identify what should move forward first.
Assign ownership. Every item should have one person responsible for seeing it through.
Use Lists in Meetings. Discuss open issues, mark completed items, and keep everyone accountable.
Keep it clean. Archive completed or irrelevant items so your List stays focused and useful.
Why List Matters
List keeps your team organized and focused on progress. It turns discussions into outcomes and ensures that every issue, idea, or task has a place to live and a plan to be completed.
By combining Issues and To-Dos into one connected system, Wave helps your team move faster and stay aligned. Nothing gets lost, and everyone stays accountable.
