Choose the right template when creating waivers or QR codes

Understand how default templates and template selectors work across waiver creation and QR codes.

Written by Wavrr

Templates control what the client reads, answers, and signs. Choosing the right template is important before sending a waiver or creating a QR code.

Default template

In Waiver Templates, one template can be marked as the default.

Default template badge

Wavrr preselects the default template when you create a waiver, which helps speed up common workflows.

Choosing a template for a new waiver

When you click New Waiver, Wavrr asks how you want to create the waiver. If you have multiple templates, choose the template first.

Then choose:

  • Create now on device

  • Send form to client email

The selected template controls the client's signing form.

Choosing a template for a QR code

When creating a QR code, select the template the QR code should use.

Clients who scan that QR code will always see the linked template's signing flow.

When to create multiple templates

Create separate templates when you need different:

  • Consent text

  • Required fields

  • Custom questions

  • Extra consent checkboxes

  • Age or guardian rules

Best practice

Use clear template names, such as:

  • Standard Tattoo Waiver

  • Guest Artist Waiver

  • Touch-up Consent

  • Photo ID Required Waiver

Clear names reduce mistakes when artists create waivers or QR codes.
