It’s easy to forget the associated costs of buying a home like paying the surveyor and the solicitor. It doesn’t matter how you buy your home. These costs have to be paid. Most of the costs are split between you and our funding partners according to how much of it you buy.

Typically, you’ll need to pay for:

Rough total cost

With 5% deposit you only pay

Solicitor

£1,000

£50

Survey

£1,000

£50

In this example, these rough costs add up to £2,000. If you bought 5%, you would only pay £100. But, if you buy more of your home you have to pay back the equivalent percentage of these costs.

For example, if you buy a further 3% of your home, you will need to pay back 3% of the associated costs. In this example that would be £60. You also pay back Stamp Duty in the same way.

This way, the amount of costs you’ve paid tracks your ownership percentage. So, when you've bought 30% of your home, you will have paid back 30% of the associated costs to our funding partners.
