Supported export format and resolutions

Export MP4 clips and choose the right resolution.

👀 Availability

Export resolution options can depend on your plan and the resolution of the original source video.

WayinVideo exports clips as MP4 files. When exporting, you can choose the export quality that fits your plan and source video.

Supported export format

The supported video export format is:

Export type

Format

Video export

MP4

If you need another format, download the MP4 file first and convert it in another tool.

Export resolution options

The export menu can show resolution options such as:

  • 480P

  • 720P

  • 1080P

  • 2K

  • 4K

Some higher-resolution options may be locked depending on your plan.

Resolution depends on your source video

Your export resolution cannot be higher than the original source video resolution.

For example:

Source video

What to expect

720P source

You can export up to 720P if your plan allows it

1080P source

You can export up to 1080P if your plan allows it

4K source

You can export up to 4K if your plan allows it

If your original video is low resolution, WayinVideo cannot export a true higher-resolution version from it. To export 4K, the source video also needs to be 4K and your plan must include 4K export.

Choose a resolution

  1. Open the clip or project you want to export.

  2. Click Export.

  3. Review the title.

  4. Open the Quality dropdown.

  5. Choose an available resolution.

  6. Confirm the export.

Locked options may require a higher plan. Unavailable options may also depend on the source video's resolution.

Where to find exported projects

After export, you can find exported projects in Library.

  1. Open Library from the left sidebar.

  2. Go to the Exported tab.

  3. Find the exported clip by date, title, or project.

  4. Use the download option if you need to download it again.

Also check your local downloads folder or the folder selected by your browser. WayinVideo can show exported projects in Library, but the downloaded MP4 file is saved on your device by your browser.

Before exporting

Before you export, check:

  • The clip title is correct

  • The selected resolution is available on your plan

  • The selected resolution does not exceed the source video resolution

  • Subtitles, text, thumbnails, and visual edits look correct

  • You have the right to use and export the original video content
