How can I track my sales?
Go to the Analytics tab in your Wayward dashboard.
Select either the Associates or Attribution sub-tab.
Within the Analytics tab, you can view your performance dashboard for a detailed overview of sales performance over time. You’ll also find a breakdown of your Top Performing Creators, Top Performing Products, and a complete Transaction History.
When will I start to see sales?
You can typically expect to start seeing some early results within the first month on the platform. Depending on the program and partners involved, some data may appear closer to the end of the month, offering a more holistic snapshot of performance.
One thing to keep in mind is that with some of our largest publishers in our Associates program, we receive their data updates on a monthly cadence. The preliminary data starts being populated after the close of each month, so you'll start to see more performance populate on the dashboard each day (typically after the 2nd business day of the month). However, this data is considered preliminary until all invoices have been generated and sent, which happens by the 10th of each month at the latest. As those updates come in, you may see additional sales reflected in your account over time.
We recommend allowing at least two full months before making any long-term performance evaluations.
How are sales tracked through attribution?
Sales tracked through attribution utilize the Amazon attribution API. Wayward connects directly to the Amazon Attribution API, which:
Automatically generates and manages attribution tags
Measures clicks and click-attributed conversions (e.g., product detail views, purchases)
Uses last-click attribution, meaning the final link a user clicks before converting is the one that gets credit
Once your Amazon Ads account is synced and your products are enabled for Attribution, creators can promote your products through Wayward attribution links through our creator portal. All sales and performance data is pulled via the API and reflected in your Wayward analytics Attribution dashboard.
Additionally, Attribution campaigns will be created automatically in your Amazon Ads account when creators generate links through the platform. You'll be able to see these ids in the Analytics page of the platform and within your Amazon Ads console (all wayward campaigns start with "wyrd"). No action is required on your end for this.
All sales tracked through attribution are eligible for Amazon's Brand Referral Bonus.
The Brand Referral Bonus is an Amazon program that rewards Ad Campaigns that bring external traffic onto Amazon with a 10% rebate. If, as a brand, you are enrolled in Amazon’s Brand Registry and an Amazon Seller (not Vendor), then you are eligible for the brand referral bonus. Why am I not seeing sales through attribution?
Attribution sales typically come from smaller creators and influencers who share links on social media or their personal blogs. Most brands see stronger performance through Associates because it includes large-scale publisher partners—many of whom don’t use Attribution links due to Amazon’s policies. Since Wayward is the only affiliate platform offering an Associates-based solution for these publishers, the majority of tracked sales often come through that channel instead.
How are sales tracked through associates?
Sales in Wayward’s Associates program are tracked through publishers own Amazon Associates links. These figures are then shared with Wayward through direct data feeds established with participating publishers, so they won’t appear in your Amazon Ads console the way Attribution-linked sales do. To ensure accuracy, Wayward partners only with top-tier, verified publishers and cross-references all Associates data against other systems, including Creator Connections, to prevent overlap or duplicate reporting. In some cases, Wayward also has direct access to publishers’ Amazon Associates accounts, allowing us to pull data directly and ensure complete transparency.
Why am I not seeing sales through associates?
If you’re not seeing sales reflected immediately through the Associates program, don’t worry—this is expected behavior. We receive reporting from some of our partners on a monthly cadence, which means sales data may be delayed and more complete closer to the end of the month.
We recommend checking your Analytics dashboard toward the end of the month for the most accurate and up-to-date snapshot of sales performance.
Will I receive the brand referral bonus on sales through Associates?
No, the brand would not receive the 10% brand referral bonus on associates. They would only pay the commission set for associates in the platform, as well the usage fee on those sales, which is Wayward's business fee.
How can I increase sales?
The most effective way to drive sales through Wayward is by setting competitive commission rates. Higher commission rates make your products more appealing to creators, encouraging them to prioritize your brand when choosing what to promote.
If you're looking to boost visibility even further, consider increasing your rates for specific products or during key promotional periods such as Prime Day, Fall Big Deal Days, or Black Friday. This simple adjustment can quickly translate into higher engagement and conversions.
Additionally, if there are specific creators you'd like to work with who aren’t yet on the platform, we’re here to help. Just reach out to us at brands@wayward.com, and our team will assist in finding and onboarding them so they can start promoting your products through Wayward.
Am I responsible for all sales for my brand?
Yes. We’re unable to differentiate between sales that come from your own offer versus those from resellers. This means you may be charged for conversions tracked to your links even when you did not win the Buy Box.
All tracking within the Amazon Affiliate ecosystem—across our Amazon Advertising Attribution-based program, Amazon Associates-based program, and Creator Connections campaigns—occurs at the brand level, not the seller level. As a result, there’s currently no way to tell which offer “won the Buy Box” at the time of purchase.
If this is a concern, there are two approaches you can take:
Disable ASINs that are also sold by 3P sellers
You can disable these directly in the platform, or send us a list of affected ASINs and our team can disable them for you.
Adjust commission rates to account for Buy Box share
You can factor your Buy Box win rate into your commission rates for ASINs that are also sold by other sellers.
To find your Buy Box win rate, go to Seller Central → Reports → Business Reports → Detail Page Sales & Traffic by Child Item (or by Parent Item).
Once you have your win rate, use the formula below to calculate an adjusted commission rate:
Commission Rate × Buy Box Win Rate = Effective Commission Rate
Example: 10% commission × 90% Buy Box win rate = 9% effective commission rate
This helps ensure your commission structure reflects the likelihood of your brand actually winning the Buy Box on any given ASIN.
How can I track article placements?
Amazon Attribution and Associates reporting provide sales data at the date and ASIN level, but they do not include detailed referral or placement information. As a result, we are not always able to determine exactly which articles or placements generate each sale. Publishers also promote products across channels that cannot be fully observed, including newsletters, social media, apps, dynamic modules, and non-indexed pages.
To locate coverage of your products, a helpful approach is to run a reverse Google search using publisher domains. For example:
site:bestreviews.guide {Your brand}This search should return any mentions of your brand across the publisher’s published content.
Additionally, with certain publishing partners, we do provide article-level tracking. If you have questions about article placements, you can always reach out to us at brands@wayward.com, and we can help identify article inclusions for your products.
Could there be overlapping sales through working with other affiliate platforms? How are these cases handled?
With Creator Connections and Wayward's Associates program, they rely on the same underlying tracking technology. However, there is no risk of overlap between these programs, as we offer a free Creator Connections integration and reconciliation services against creator connections reporting to ensure you're never double paying for the same conversion.
If you’re also working with other affiliate platforms that offer Associates-based commissions, there is potential for overlap. In those cases, we recommend confirming that each publisher is receiving Associates-based commissions through only one platform at a time. If you have any concerns about potential overlap, please contact us at brands@wayward.com for assistance.
