How can I track my sales?

Wayward offers two distinct affiliate programs for tracking sales within the platform: Attribution and Associates.

To view your performance data:

  1. Go to the Analytics tab in your Wayward dashboard.

  2. Select either the Associates or Attribution sub-tab.

Within the analytics tab you can view an overview of your sales performance over time, and view a breakdown of Top Performing Creators, Top Performing Products, and a complete Transaction History.

When will I start to see sales?

You can typically expect to start seeing some early results within the first month on the platform. Depending on the program and partners involved, some data may appear closer to the end of the month, offering a more holistic snapshot of performance.

One thing to keep in mind is that with some of our largest publishers, we receive their data updates on a monthly cadence. The preliminary data starts being populated after the close of each month, so you'll start to see more performance populate on the dashboard each day (typically after the 2nd business day of the month). However, this data is considered preliminary until all invoices have been generated and sent, which happens by the 10th of each month at the latest. As those updates come in, you may see additional sales reflected in your account over time.

We recommend allowing at least two full months before making any long-term performance evaluations.

How are sales tracked through attribution?

Sales tracked through attribution utilize the Amazon attribution API. Wayward connects directly to the Amazon Attribution API, which:

  • Automatically generates and manages attribution tags

  • Measures clicks and click-attributed conversions (e.g., product detail views, purchases)

  • Uses last-click attribution, meaning the final link a user clicks before converting is the one that gets credit

Once your Amazon Ads account is synced, Wayward assigns attribution tags to eligible product links promoted by creators or publishers. All sales and performance data is pulled via the API and reflected in your Wayward analytics Attribution dashboard.

All sales tracked through attribution are eligible for Amazon's Brand Referral Bonus.

The Brand Referral Bonus is an Amazon program that rewards Ad Campaigns that bring external traffic onto Amazon with a 10% rebate. If, as a brand, you are enrolled in Amazon’s Brand Registry and an Amazon Seller (not Vendor), then you are eligible for the brand referral bonus. Why am I not seeing sales through attribution?

Attribution sales typically come from smaller creators and influencers who share links on social media or their personal blogs. Most brands see stronger performance through Associates because it includes large-scale publisher partners—many of whom don’t use Attribution links due to Amazon’s policies. Since Wayward is the only affiliate platform offering an Associates-based solution for these publishers, the majority of tracked sales often come through that channel instead.

How are sales tracked through associates?

Wayward's Associates program is tracked through a proprietary tracking system designed specifically for publisher-driven sales. We work exclusively with top-tier, reliable publishers and use custom data feeds combined with a unique methodology to track performance for this program. To ensure accuracy, the data is regularly cross-referenced and audited against other systems, such as creator connections.

Why am I not seeing sales through associates?

If you’re not seeing sales reflected immediately through the Associates program, don’t worry—this is expected behavior. We receive reporting from some of our partners on a monthly cadence, which means sales data may be delayed and more complete closer to the end of the month.

We recommend checking your Analytics dashboard toward the end of the month for the most accurate and up-to-date snapshot of sales performance.

How can I increase sales?

The most effective way to drive sales through Wayward is by setting competitive commission rates. Higher commission rates make your products more appealing to creators, encouraging them to prioritize your brand when choosing what to promote.

If you're looking to boost visibility even further, consider increasing your rates for specific products or during key promotional periods such as Prime Day, Fall Big Deal Days, or Black Friday. This simple adjustment can quickly translate into higher engagement and conversions.

Additionally, if there are specific creators you'd like to work with who aren’t yet on the platform, we’re here to help. Just reach out to us at brands@wayward.com, and our team will assist in finding and onboarding them so they can start promoting your products through Wayward.

Am I responsible for all sales for my brand?

Yes. We’re unable to differentiate between sales that come from your own offer versus those from resellers. This means you may be charged for conversions tracked to your links even when you did not win the Buy Box.

All tracking within the Amazon Affiliate ecosystem—across our Amazon Advertising Attribution-based program, Amazon Associates-based program, and Creator Connections campaigns—occurs at the brand level, not the seller level. As a result, there’s currently no way to tell which offer “won the Buy Box” at the time of purchase.

If this is a concern, there are two approaches you can take:

  1. Disable ASINs that are also sold by 3P sellers

    • You can disable these directly in the platform, or send us a list of affected ASINs and our team can disable them for you.

  2. Adjust commission rates to account for Buy Box share

    • You can factor your Buy Box win rate into your commission rates for ASINs that are also sold by other sellers.

    • To find your Buy Box win rate, go to Seller Central → Reports → Business Reports → Detail Page Sales & Traffic by Child Item (or by Parent Item).

    • Once you have your win rate, use the formula below to calculate an adjusted commission rate:

Commission Rate × Buy Box Win Rate = Effective Commission Rate
Example: 10% commission × 90% Buy Box win rate = 9% effective commission rate

This helps ensure your commission structure reflects the likelihood of your brand actually winning the Buy Box on any given ASIN.
